Ban Phum Riang Ecotourism Community, Surat Thani

Located in Phum Riang sub-district, this small community includes both Buddhist and Muslim members living and working harmoniously alongside each other. Most of the villagers make a living from fishing and they have recently created a crab bank and fish farm. There’s also Ko Set island, 30 minutes from the Laem Pho coast, which acts as a marine life nursery and is vital for the community’s livelihood. Visitors who want to check out the island can book a boat trip in the community and join in with collecting the clams during low tide. Phum Riang Silk is undoubtedly the community’s most famous product and comes in various hues of silver and blue with a number of unique floral patterns.
